McCain Realizes the Flames are Out of Control

Pretty amazing video from Minnesota. And pretty amazing how depressingly ignorant some Americans are. There are honest, uneducated citizens that have a more basic view of the world. Then there are recklessly uninformed simpletons who are violating their citizen's end of the bargain with the United States.

These people are shameful and dim the light that should be America. Very sad.

Too little, too late. His camp has been pushing this crap for weeks, including right up to that very moment. Where does he think those people got the idea that he's "dangerous for the country"? McCain ad and rhetoric. "Can't be trusted?" McCain ad and rhetoric. He's doing the right thing at this minute (who knows what he'll say at the next speech, or what Palin will spout), but that doesn't absolve him from the dangerous race-baiting and xenophobic nonsense he's been peddling all along. You reap what you sow.

I'm not absolving him for anything. I'm actually thanking him for trying to contain what he started - for Obama's safety and for the sake of the country. Like an arsonist who then drives a fire truck up to the building he set ablaze and rallies onlookers to help douse the flames.

Guy still should go to prison, but I'm glad he tried to stop it.
