Forgive me for not shaking hands

Sure, maybe Dana Perino can look at this video and spin it in a way to suggest that it was President Bush's choice not to shake hands with all the world leaders at the G-20 summit Saturday, but somehow that's not how I read it.

Maybe in his final weeks as POTUS Bush is trying to bring back George Washington and John Adams's practice...

As much as I dislike George Bush individually and in the way he has conducted his presidency, this shit really pisses me off. That is completely uncalled for, and the leaders of these other nations should be ashamed for acting in such a Bush-like manner. F them.

Completely agree with you DP. I'm not fan of Bush either, but respect the office, if not the man. He's the President of the United States of America, bless his heart, and these guys should show him the respect that title commands. It's bad precedent (and bad president?) otherwise.

If I were Dubya, I'd aggressively stick my hand out and lean in to each of them and say, "Good to see you. Saved you from Fascism. Saved you from Communism. Kicked your ass, then rebuilt your country into a powerhouse. Saved you from a dictator. Saved YOUR country so many times I can't say it in one pithy statement."

The other tack would be for Bush to go all Mitch Leary on them: "Do you know how easily I could kill you, Mr. Sarkozy? Do you know how many times I watched you go in and out of that apartment? You are still alive because I have allowed you to live so how about you show me some GODDAMN RESPECT!

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to say France has WMDs and serve them some Freedom Fries personally.
